Dear friends,

On behalf of all the UNI Global Union family we send our most heartfelt sympathy to you at this time of national tragedy.

You are in the thoughts of your brother and sister unions worldwide who are in a state of shock and incomprehension. The Norwegian people and their unions have the affection of our members everywhere.

Your generosity of spirit and the solidarity with which you extend a helping hand to others have won the respect of generations of union members.

These wicked acts of terror have brought unspeakable loss and sadness to family, friends and colleagues.

So many young, beautiful people gathered in innocence in the Norwegian summer to discuss a better world and their contribution to it. The loss of these lives in such a brutal manner has brought tears to the world.

I would like to express my most profound condolences to all of those who have lost loved ones. They are in all our thoughts during these sad days.

We know that you are all strong and good people and we wish you strength and fortitude in the sad days ahead.
